Attack of the Georgies

GV and GJ have more or less dominated all social gatherings for the last couple of weeks with GV throwing welcome home parties for the first half of her time here and farewell parties the other half.

The Culprits

Somewhere along the way I got the feeling that GJ has decided to claim the entire month of Feb as her celebrations... Not a bad idea at all, I call shotgun on April.
This weekends schenanigans started at The Dolphin, followed by good old Zachary's, home of the Pulsator then finally at Lady Lux.

Motley Crew

Fun had by all although I'd be willing to put money on everyone there hating the universe and all it contains when it came to Sunday "morning".

The First Poll Is Live!!!!!

Due to overwhelming demand from my thousands of readers I've added a poll to lukewatson.com -
Whenever I have the urge I'll make up a question with up to 7 responses (that's all this poll code allows me to do) that you can all vote for.
Every once in a while I'll post the results and we can all start to get an idea of just how twisted the lukewatson.com readership actually is.

Answer the current poll

Also, coming soon are interviews with people who I feel deserve celebrity status - I intend to use the power of blogging to elevate them to the dizzying heights the likes of which they could not have imaged.

Rob Thomas Is The Dalai Lama!

El belives that the Dalai Lama and Rob Thomas are closely related and perhaps even the same person. At first I was disgusted at such a claim but after carefully examining photos of the two the similarities are undeniable.

Step 2 was to look into the lyrics of some of "Robs" songs - again I was amazed to find that one a man in touch with god could come up with such profound lyrics as:

Ya been around town
Take it down now

Why is it the ones you love
That makes it all so hard on you
Then you let it fall behind
And in the back of your mind
You feel my loving shine
You think you might be saved

Whatever the hell that means...

Happy Birthday GJ!

Yesterday was our beloved GJ's birthday - A whole bunch of us got together at Pizza Mario's (Thanks for the drink Mac!), celebrated her birthday and put crap on me for having a blog...

Based on the amount of conversation that took place on the topic of blogging last night I know that several of those people will have a peek at lukewatson.com, particularly the so called 'gay' post where I talk about enjoying a day out at Jamiroquai - What a crime.

My threat was to put guilty parties email addresses on here so people would start spamming them but as everyone correctly pointed out, there are few who pass by this way to collect some Watson Wisdom™ so it's essentially a waste of time.

I will however list the offending parties so that if you see them in the street you can ostracise them for not having their own blogs... bam!
  • Marika Toltz - Guilty
  • Georgina Jordan - Guilty
  • Eloise Baring - Guilty
  • Corbin Harris - Guilty
  • Laura Dicksonbatty - Guilty
  • Sienna Perry - Guilty
  • Sally Clarke - Guilty
  • Marika's Boyfriend with the paperclips better than everyone elses - Guilty
Consider yourselves marked by us nerds...

Vital Update For This Blog

A few people have been good enough to point out that photos and stories about me doing hobbies can at times be a little... comatosing.

The general suggestion was that I need to have more photos and stories about wild parties and debaucherous behaviour. Attempts to explain that a level of professionalism is required fell on deaf ears and so, without further stalling, some mild photo’s of recent parties…

Happy Birthday Antonia!

Just a quick one to say a big happy birthday to Antonia for last Thursday! The photo is from when we all caught up for a picnic on Sunday at Mc-something park (dont remember the name) in Darlingpoint. Food, beer, biting ants and stories about Mike being a wuss when it comes to picking up... A perfect sunday.

World Cup 2006!

The guys and I are in the middle of trying to figure out how this whirlwind tour of Europe is going to happen. Tickets are booked and paid for so at this point I'm outa here 3/6 and back 24/6 - What'll happen between those two dates is anyones guess at this point.I've set up the current plans at http://www.mytripjournal.com/lukewatson so we can mull over them and figure out the problem areas. The most obvious one at the moment is how limited the time will be in Croatia if we hang around in the hope of getting tickets to the second game.
Infact, the more I look at it, the more I think that maybe we should see the first game then hop on a flight to the coast - Croatia, Spain or Greece and take it easy for the rest of the time we have.

The Silver Party

This Thursday Angie and I went to the Silver Party, a fundraiser for the Sydney children's Hospital. Again it was held at Bennelong (Sydney Opera House) so there were great views and thanks to their sponsor, Moet so were the drinks.

They had some of Australia's top chefs cooking up a storm for everyone out on the terrace with the likes of Neil Perry making all kinds of great snacks for everyone feeling a bit loose from the champagne and cocktails.

With Sam Kennedy organising much of the evening it wasn't *too* much of a surprise that there was some kwerky (and very cool) things going on. At the entrance you walked down the equivalent of the red carpet, except it was white shagpile, flanked by a semi nude girl in a bathtub full of tennis balls, another having a hit of mini golf and a third lazing about on a vespa.

Sorry about the crap pics, they're taken on my phone using night mode - A brain surgeon would find it hard to hold it still enough, long enough to get an unblurred photo with that camera.

All in all it was a great night and apparently they raised over $250,000 for the hospital in that night alone!
